DIY Camper Under-Bed Storage Drawers
The storage under our camper bed was large, but getting to it meant lifting the mattress and the hinged bed platform every time we needed something.
I converted that space into large pull-out drawers and added 12V magnetic locks so the storage is easy to reach at camp but stays secured while we're traveling.

Making Under-Bed Camper Storage Easier to Use
The original storage area already had plenty of capacity, so the goal wasn't to add more space. The problem was access. Lifting the mattress and bed platform made one of the camper's biggest storage areas inconvenient for things we use regularly.
The pull-out drawers let us reach that same space from the front of the bed. I kept the drawer fronts simple so they blend into the existing camper cabinetry rather than looking like an add-on.
Because large drawers can move while towing, I added 12V magnetic cabinet locks wired into the camper. An illuminated button controls the locking system, giving the drawers a positive way to stay closed on the road without relying on visible latches.
The result is the same useful storage volume, but in a form that's much easier to use every day.
This project is one of the four camper upgrades featured in my DIY small camper storage ideas video and Idea page.
